All of the network will be contracted out to Coriant. Coriant spun off of Nokia/Siemens - and it's basically technology that comes from - Siemens Optical Networks, Tellabs, and Sycamore Networks.

Guess who is the CEO of Coriant? IT folks should remember this fella - Shaygan Kheradpir.

Took him a few years, but he's back!

outsourcing IT to contract company happening in many industries due to costs. ericsson running network -i posted here years ago about this - refer to bloomberg article dated 7/1/2014 where both at&t and vz were in talks to contract this work to ericsson only to have vz do a knee jerk response 3 days after article stating not true. companies cutting costs are contractong IT and engineering since these are some of the higher salaries in telecom.

The outsourcing of US techs to Ericsson in coming. VZ has already done it in the rest of its operations globally.

@1kxr: I had multiple family members who worked for them. Directory assistance, line techs, and whatever else I"m forgetting. Every one of them loved working there until I"d say the late 70's - that's when they say things started going sour. I was but a young kid then, so I can only speak to what I remember.

this rumor has been circulating in our circles for the past month or two. our entire team has been applying for other jobs outside of vz. it is quite saddening to see a once great company turn into the modern equivalent of the 'bells' from the 70's.

Rumor or not it's taking a toll on productivity and morale. Shame it has to go on this long.

EUS? The only thing I can find under EUS is "EUS - IT Solutions". But they say they're for "small to medium" sized businesses. So, I'm guessing that's not the right company. (Unless Verizon "really" plans on shrinking in the next month.)
