Intel Raleigh hiring event - Questions to ask

Tell me about Intel's yearly stacked rankings process... What is your honest opinion on it... It has the reputation of being brutal

What does it mean to receive a Stock Level 4 during the above process

I understand the current Cary site is over capacity... Is Intel planning to open a new facility in Raleigh? Would a small site be at risk for shutdown?

What is Intel policy for remote work?

If someone is not a diversity hire, is there additional approval needed to make an offer?

Intel PE is grade 10... not 9. Technical ladder goes up to grade 13 (SrFellow). There are on he order of 10 SrFellows and 100 Fellows si realistically grade 11 is the top for most. Making PE is extremely tough and political in most groups but can be easy in others.

They recently (2016) closed all sites under 500 people and forced some people to move to bigger sites. Other were booted. Remote employees given the same treatment. There were exceptions, of course. In Raleigh, they are looking for people who want to move.

EB is something you can negotiate after grade 7 (PhD new hire level). Prior to that is is fixed at like 1% of your base income. At higher grade levels this grows as a pct of base while base grows less. Every year you get somewhere between 2-4 times this EB depending on how your group hit its targets.

Read their layoff boards. They are also having serious issues.

There are plenty of people who are grade 10. No clue why you would say 9 is the highest.

Also please remember this while negotiating

with Intel

Grade 7 = staff engr with 8-16 yr experience

Grade 9 = principal engr (highest IC)

Incorrect. You can negotiate higher EB. Obviously you can’t negotiate the eb multiplier. Every grade doesn’t have a similar bonus. They are very unique to anindividual.

@dzk But OP is asking about Intel internal stuff that very few Q employees will be able to answer.

As you can see, none of OP‘s questions were answered. And the stuff that was said is completel b---s---, because EB is the „Employee Bonus“, and it is quite pointless to try to negotiate a certain EB.

EB=earnings baseline, equivalent of the base pay.

This is on the Qualcomm site because that Intel hiring event is targeting Qualcomm employees

You clearly don’t know what EB is.

Make sure you negotiate a high EB.

If enough Raleigh folks are hired on the local Intel office will not be as bad as elsewhere (initially). They'll slowly but surely crush your soul though.

You are asking about Intel on a Qualcomm board populated by Qualcomm employees?
