After all the hoopla, was even one person laid off this week or no?

“Only true in SCA. Those who were laid off in BRM were not covered by WARN, as their numbers were too small.”
Austin was also covered by WARN on the 9/1/17 layoff; more than 100 were RIFd.
" For the US people who were part of the 9/1/17 RIF, that was October 31."

Re: Aria might take weeks. Yes, particularly if any of the RIFs fell under WARN laws in the US. People will b in Aria until their official “last day.” For the US people who were part of the 9/1/17 RIF, that was October 31.
Aria is not updated right away. Might take weeks to know the real picture.
To @Tsdez7w-rhv
Trolls can't read.
Speciality sales team in APAC also hit in big way, 70% of the team hit.
@Tsdez7w-qvc This is a layoff site. If you want to pump Oracle, go to glassdoor. I was hit by the non-existent layoff of 9/1/2017. Pump your crap elsewhere.
How much did Aria drop by? Hard to track with all those new college hires.
To the OP: If you had bothered to read the various threads you would know that there was a layoff in various areas including all of UK support. Also there were folks hit in China, and some other places. Those cuts hurt the people who got them and my heart goes out to them.
"15,000 let go globally."
Care to provide a breakdown?
Didn't think so.
Yes, quite a few in support, including me.
big for your org does not equal big for O.
not to diminish those who got affected, but 200 out of 100K is not a big number and does not justify the usage of words like "significant layoffs" unless you qualify them with words like "in my org".
can't say for other org, but EMEA HW has lost at least 200 people in the last 2 weeks, mainly support, sales and presales, but also some bdms and ops. and will lose another 100 in the next weeks, mainly sales and presales, depending on countries' laws for rif.
it's not big? well, this is more than 70% of the org, but of course it's just background noise in the overall scenario. up to you to consider this big or not.
15,000 let go globally.
"significant layoffs" == percentage of organization affected. For example 20% of my group in the US was let go. This is worse as it's compounded over time, 20% last fall, 10% six months before that, 10% six months before that...
It's unfortunate, but it's real.
"There are significant layoffs"...
What's your definition of "significant"? 20,000 or 200?
YES.
North America: Redwood Shores and Minneapolis 40-60
UK: Support 50
UK: CX numbers TBA
More coming after earnings. MH doesn't want to answer questions about layoffs on earnings calls. So sometime after the 15 June.
Oracle is one big Rolling Layoff event.
SMB in Redwood and Minneapolis all just got let go. Replacing them with college hires in Austin
Fake news
There are significant layoffs in the CX organisation in the UK and the rest of EMEA. Oracle and the German workers council are in negotiations for headcount reductions.
There were significant global layoffs mid-May in the middleware area. Java and middleware product / service teams were affected. Probably more that I'm not aware of.
