Plenty of good people hit today on the business side. Anyone else hearing numbers? Really quiet on the board about those hit.

@1epx - same thing happened back in 2015. There were volunteers for the rif but HR wouldn't let them go even though on particular individual had been a problematic employee since the day they hired her. Her Manager tried to terminate her several times and HR denied the requests.
Outsource of IT is clearly still on the table. Not sure who the players are, but IT executive management needs to contribute to the 9 billion in savings over the next 4 years. I heard an announcement could be made within the next 30 - 60 days.
Perfomance Improvement Plan is what I meant. They kept some people in depts that were underperforming but eliminated others for no justified reason. HR has no answers when asked-they'll probably get sued.
I was riffed last November. I knew it was happening after Hans said he was going to remove overlap. I still know people in high places and was told IT was going to be outsourced to IBM. The person who told me knows the person working the contract with them right now. Hans is a company killer.
No rebadgging to IBM too costly.
Nothing till the end of the year.
Locations were all over the place. Sounds like they are still playing the "...if you aren't in a strategic tower location" game "a la IBM."
was riffed Dec 2015 was actually interviewing to go back but seeing that they are still on the Riffing band wagon I think I may stay with my current company.

VZB is still a thing. It got its name changed several years ago to VES (Verizon Enterprise Solutions).

Yes. Some very good people were let go. Apparently they claim the job was eliminated but it doesn't smell right. Some good people were let go without warning. Others, who were on a plan are still there. It made no sense
