Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Latest with Rosebank

As everyone knows, Rosebank is still being worked up with FID in Q1 2019.

What is everyones thought on this project? Is it going to get the green light or not as the case may be?

CVX recently said 'Rosebank' was not part of the asset sales in CUE, but there are a few rumours going about regarding swapping Rosebank with another GOM project with another super major operator!

Equinor (formerly Statoil) aren't burdened by PRC - enough said.

Some interesting comments.

Was the foray into Onshore Europe not initiated by George and ultimately under JJ's watch? Some interesting decisions which may not have fully considered the nuances of onshore exploitation outside the US plus some very political dimensions at play.

RB was always a risky proposition, dragged on and on and on, so great if Equinor have the appetite to do something with it in the same way as they have got after Mariner. Siccar Point have some opportunity which may complement.

A loss of trust in CUE has undoubtedly influenced the decision to exit the NE after the onshore europe debacle (half a billion $ wasted) and Alder (3/4 billion $) to produce 20 mm boe if they're lucky. The excuses have been exhausted.

End of an era for CUE and a worrying time for UK employees

Well thats Rosebank sold to Equinor. I am sure they will make a great job of executing the project which will be a major benefit to the UK economy. Hopefully all the folks working on the project also move over to Equinor or secure future moves elsewhere.

I agree it's only an offer at this stage, but there have been alot of rumours in the BU for the last few months regarding this. Usually no smoke without fire as the saying goes. chevron also sold off all interest in the Danish sector yesterday to French giant Total.

It all looks very like it's CUE no more. Too much interest in Tengiz and the Permian.

All the other majors are investing heavily in West of Shetland subsea projects.

@lmao, An offer is only an offer. It will be evaluated by the Board of Directors, and if accepted will be made known to the shareholders, i.e., made public. Hold your horses, buckaroo.

Well well surprise surprise an offer comes in for Rosebank. Just been announced at a CUE townhall today.

Why don't the leadership team just tell the employees you are swapping it for a GOM interest.

In South Korea, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineeering (DSME) are salivating and ready for it to happen and come to Korea for fabrication. The oil and gas industry is looking grim there and Koreans are desperate to win the bid against Singapore who is also short listed.
