Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Question is my store is closing

So just now this two guys were like inspecting and measuring the inside building. They dont seem high tier. Nice guys I asked (being nosy) what you guys doing. Said we were brought by the landlord.

They were measuring things on the laptop said they were sent by landlord "surveying" of what they said. Our store is an a mall anchor store its not owned, but leased. I even went as far and asked "is this store closing" they said not that we know of landlord sent us here to inspect.

So what does this mean is our store finally done? Thought it was weird they are walking around measuring things they said looking around. He said we are in the bottom if you guys were closing we wouldnt know. Maybe they didnt want to leak that? Any ingsight about this?

Those guys would not know nor care if your store is closing. They are there to measure the store for either the next tenant or tenants. If they were sent by the landlord then your lease is not being renewed and you are closing.

@V5iF1jJ-fds Its truth, but how can a regulat user get the ip address? If so whats my state, city or better yet store #?

@V5iF1jJ-beu Really so whats my store #?

@V5iF1jJ-uwg They said earlier someone came to check the eletrical box (from corporate) so today lots of moment here.

OP here they are still here checking the whole building I am really hoping we close looking forward to it. Thanks for some of your guys experience I hope its the end for us.

A couple years back we had a survey crew inspecting the property. A few weeks later the Seritage announcement was made and we were one of the stores that are sold to seritage. Years later and still kicking.

Our auto center had someone come and count the lifts. Take note of in ground vs above ground. Also check the electrical boxes. The also said they were sent by the landlord. I assume since our lease is up next August the mall was probably told we would not be renewing. Or maybe the mall told Sears don't bother trying to renew.

@V5iF1jJ-mov it's not that hard to find the city by using the poster's IP address. There aren't that many stores left so it's an easy process of elimination.

Seems legit checking the master list with no store number! Nailed it!!

Same thing happened at our Sears store. We were closed within 6 months which was the end of this past month. At that time the liquidator said more stores are closing this year that have not been announced yet. He would not say which ones but that he had already been assigned to 2 of them next month.

Yes your store is closing, I just look at the master list and you will be on the next wave.
