Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

PC/TC Elimination in sept

It is currently starting with Sam's Club and later roll out to the rest of the company. We have been on conference call after conference call to prepare for the changes. So here it goes fellow PTC's of Walmart....

I'm a PTC at Sam's Club. Starting the Sept. 17, WORKDAY will go into play. It's a system that can b eww accessed on any computer or TC70/40. PTC's WILL NOT have access to it. Alot of the PTC work will be turned over to the mgmt team and the leads/dept. Mgrs. They will onboard and orientate new hires, accept transfers in, do job code changes, do secondary job codes, prize and awards, time and attendance, etc etc. The hourly associates will now be able to update their own personal information on the WIRE. Files will no longer be maintained. That's were the DocuSign system came in to place. Record Retention was cut back to been stored in the system. Sedgwick does LOA and ADA's. If they need any help or have questions, they will have a team called People Solutions to assist them thru Chat or email. In the Spring of 2019, career preference will go away. 3rd party vendors will be in place. So the writing is on the wall....The irony of the whole thing is that we need to train them how to take over our positions.

If you ask me this website is just to keep everyone on edge. I would not doubt that some of the comments on here were put on here just for that reason. Any of us who have been a PC or TC for many years all ready know that our jobs have been talked about being eliminated for YEARS, at least 10 and maybe longer. Yes, management could do our jobs but......will they? PC and TC are already doing jobs that the management team are suppose to be doing.

End of September and yet again PC/TC is still here. This sh!t is getting old. Seriously who thinks Walmart can do without PC? What kind of chaos would happen without us? Get over it people! No way in hell would it ever work. Feeling pretty secure in my job.

It doesn't sound like anyone at Sam's lost their jobs if their still hiring and doing orientations. Walmart personnel hasn't had anything to do with evals and coaching's anyway.

Do you really think it will be 2 years for Walmart stores?

V6KwkKd-btpk _ pretty much the same stuff but our capabilities are restricted. We still hire and complete orientation. Transfers and job changes still take place in Career Preference. But we can all see where this is going. We cannot see coachings (disclipinary actions) or evaluations. By the time all evaluations are in Workday and Career Preference is eliminsted our position will be done. On a conference call they said Wal-Mart will be one to two years behind us depending on the rollout success.

I have heard so many rumors about PC and TC going away......I have asked my market manager and he told me no, then he told one of the other PC’s in same market it was going away. Other ASM have told me same thing, one will say No the other will say it’s going away. So I’m real confused,we need truthful answers stop beating around the bush....please let us know soon.

Too much conflicting information. PTC going away at Sam's Club, sure it is starting their first and coming to Walmart in the future. The question is how fast are these changes coming. Several posts say by the end of the year, is this like the co's told in January and gone in March or does anyone know of any that has been told already. I don't see it coming that soon however don't have my head in the sand either. Anyone with facts? Rumor for years has been tc going away but 2 new tc and a pc has just been promoted to that position in the past few weeks.

Several associates will be affected by these changes. Company going into a different direction. They say change is needed to adapt to the times. I think it will be the beginning to the end of retail as we know it

What a joke....Team leads can't even do audits in their areas, what makes them think they can handle everything that is given to them. Who are they kidding? Why don't they go in and see what failures they are creating in all areas of club. Oh, and what makes it worse is that they continue to cut payroll. They have been cutting hours at my club since January.
