Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Job Market is positive and getting calls with in NJ area

For me, giving a joining date is a tougher decision as i dont know wacky exit date.

2) Same level opportunities are in hand , but waiting for next level position.

I would say , walk out with confidence ,ahead of the game, before the crowd hits the market.

This is the right time to jump before market tanks further..

I went on two interviews so far. Both times, the employer asked me why I'd leave Verizon. I explained the whole situation because, why not? Transparency is a good thing. Their eyes just about popped out of their heads. No one can believe how under-valued Verizon is treating its IT employees.

Same boat as @jpm. 6 years, good opportunities in NY/NJ. Deciding between two soon. Hopefully they let me go on 12/28

So if you get a VSP exit date of 3/31 but quit on Jan 1, you still get the 2018 STI?

I am lined up with interviews too. There are plenty of jobs on the market in DC metro. It's hard to wait until Dec 10 for the release date.

I am in the same position and planning to leave Jan 1 if I get a job I like. This may mean leaving the package but getting the STI. 6yr in VZ here

If you have a good commute to jersey City/Princeton you are all set
