My manager told me I'm good to go in March. My Dickrector vetoed March and now my manager says she can't keep me till March, I'm gone 12/28. I would have liked to have added to my severance with the extra 3 months but what ever, like they said I cannot choose the date.

This is why I never trust what my manager says or what coworkers say about work related stuff.
Even if they weren’t playing me their boss or bosses boss or bosses bosses boss etc could just go another direction either on their own or based on some other group/leader.

The way it works is each vp knows how many people hes got to deny to get to the right number and balance this with requests for beyond 12/28. if vp has to deny anyone it is those asking for beyond 12/28. That is how they hit the number. if you are valuable dont hold your breath un;ess your group is under 25% already.
@1ifx OP here & not a troll but think what you’d like. They said the official notification in writing will be Dec 10. Are you so dumb as to think there isn’t management having discussions with their staff? Or maybe you’re just pissy you’re in the dark with your situation & cant possibly understand how others know what’s up ? Sorry to hear you don’t have a decent enough relationship with your manager.
She was given a list of clickers on 11/12. She was given a revised list after the revokers. She has had a discussion with everyone in our group.
Yes justification is needed to keep anyone past 12/28. So managers can request & Directors can deny.

Why does anyone call troll when some one claims to have discussed leaving dates or even if they got it. The micro site and Marc reeds letter said everyone would be told BY the 10th, not ON the 10th. Some could find out before.

1moo - now that sounds real. My director hasn’t spoken to me yet. It actually feels like she’s avoiding me... perhaps I have been denied and she doesn’t want to tell me. I will respect her space and not bug her about it. It shakes out however it shakes out. I’m doing what I can to make sure the team is on good footing for next year.
Spoke with my supervisor today and was told they had to submit a request if they wanted to hold anyone to March or June of 2019. Was told it would have to be a critical function to be considered. Also had to indicate how many if any back fills they were looking for. Supervisor was not told if either request would be honored or if any would be refused a release date at this time. The supervisors are going under the impression that all will be released, but that is not a fact yet. So unless the new reporting slots have all been determined no one can tell you for sure you will go.
How are they telling anyone? Still smell a troll. I don’t think anyone’s been told anything yet.
@ rax My manger and I have discussed it. Nothing official in writing until Dec 10. She was hoping I'd be around to help clean things up, I've reported to her for over 10 years and would gladly stayed for both that and the extra 3 months salary.
@ adl - agreed I'm OK with 12/28. It wasn't a complaint really, just a statement. Trust me I did not bank my release date on a conversation no matter how close I am with my manager. Plus anyone who volunteered knew the date was not ours to choose. Apparently not our manager's choice either lol
