Is anyone else sorry that they didn't sign up for the offer? After speaking with colleagues around the business, I am upset with myself for not giving it more consideration. I realize that I am expendable but decided to ride it out but now that seems rather shortsighted.

IMHO, there are fortunes to be made here with the 5G build.
NO RAGRETS!
I am sorry but I did submit quite confidently for the VSP. I am now however wondering if it was th right choice. I deliberated and was comfortable with my choice. I followed all the topics like everything is being sold and we are going to be only a wireless 5G company. I do believe the company is changing but even so I am not so sure it is going to be slash and burn all revenue sources. Time will tell.
@OP, Only YOU know your financial situation ...it is not easy out there in the job market no matter what Wall Street and the low unemployment rate states. Verizon DOES NOT CARE about you.....Keep you RIF Box handy and be ready to take the money and run next time , if there is a next time , you can bet the ranch the package WILL NOT be as attractive as the one previously offered
I am. The more I see what a cluster this is turning in to the more I’m thinking I should have pressed the button.
So many people pressed the button that now they are going to have to keep people who don’t want to be here. Layer the restructure on top of that. It’s going to be a really tough year.
Think I’m going to short the stock....
My guess is, if the number of people needed to take the offer don't jump at the offer, the offer will get better to entice more takers. Just MHO which, I readily admit, means little. But, I am a student of history.
Maybe just keep the offer open-ended, to be taken advantage of anytime for the next couple of years, but leave little idea when that might end, to more fully facilitate exploring options?
If you still have some more years for retirement, then make sure you have another secure full-time job that pays enough and has health care before leaving Vz. (By secure, I mean one that won't lay you off after 3 months cause you're the new guy, or a consulting job where consults get cut first.)

I wouldn’t sweat it if you didn’t, no one knows absolutely of what the acceptance rate will be, but don’t sit around, position yourself to exit when the time comes.
@1pzf. All but a few funds/investments are in the negative year to date. So unless you are in those few we are all down. If not can you please educate us on the one/s that have gone up up up, except for the VZ stock of course.
Your just like the 99% of all Verizon managers, Under achievers in life and drunk on yourself. You should have took the offer but deep down inside you think VZ needs you. But they don't.
I am the other extreme- clicked and not sure it was the right decision. Hope all will be ok
For both you of us.
@swz not sure what you're invested in but mine has gone up up up
Yea pretty much. it seems like i thought i had it all figured out. I weighed the pros and cons. But oddly enough all of a sudden i am remembering all the good with the company and what the company has afforded me and my family.
Oh, forgot to add, have you looked at your 401K go down down down since Oct.
Well, if you have to work, and need a job, you have one so I wouldn't worry. Just take this as far as you can. But, plan now for the next opportunity that comes along in the future, so you can jump on it.
Looking at the volatile stock market, tariff issues, interest rate hike, wage increase, companies not bringing business back to USA but to other cheaper foreign countries like Cambodia/Bangladesh/etc., tax cut for rich, tax subsidies not working (look at GM -laying off 14k even with $157M help from gov't), threat for gov't shutdown due to investigation, etc. etc. etc. -- I would say keep your job as long as you can cause unemployment is going to be bad next year especially in tech.
Dont worry, there is no good solution. I am sure everyone has second thoughts - whether they took the VSP or not. Just move on
It may be a bumpy ride for sure, but unless you can walk away and not worry about finding a new job right away, better to stay and earn a salary while you look around. There may even be some opportunities here after the dust settles. Of course, I wouldn't stick around, but some people like to live dangerously. :-)
