Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

Who is leaving after February 28th?

For those of you who found another job raise your hand!

For those of you who are interviewing, raise your hand!

For those of you who are seriously thinking about leaving raise your hand!

For those of you who think GM is not loyal to their employees, raise your hand!

For those of you who lost good people, raise your hand!

@XHwC0xo-ywd is your new company still hiring? IT or Engineering jobs?

Quit without notice last year the same day as the bonus paid out. Worked that day like normal, left everything on my desk,

walked into the HR office, told them I quit and surrendered my badge(HR rep had that deer in the headlights look on her face, priceless). Started my new job the next day.

4 years of deception, boredom, lost skills. I had high hopes that just never came about.

Once the IT insourcing was complete they were using forced attrition to run folks off. I knew layoffs were on the way.

Like the last commentor stated, they were just using people with false promises and building their hopes just to accomplish the goal.

GM is an extremely deceptive company. Will never purchase a GM product and will never recommend them to others.

I got walked out Tuesday and started a new job Monday. They responded to me within a few hours, had me in for an interview the next day, then made me an offer Friday. They matched my benefits and gave me a pay-raise of about 20-30% and I was a level 7 blue badge! It's obvious GM was just using me and had no intention of keeping me around (obviously). For those of you still employed, search around. You might find something better! I did!

I'm waiting for a job offer and bonus payout to leave BUT the recent merit increase (7%) is swaying me a little bit. sigh. I know i get paid anywhere else like I do here at GM.
