Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Cvs closes for NOTHING!

CVS doesn’t care one darn bit about us! And a delayed opening is about as close to a day off we’ll ever get. Even a delayed opening they probably hemmed and hawed just to make that call. Cvs closes for NOTHING! ALL they care about is making sure the store is open at all costs, employees be damned! A few years back a major blizzard hit New England area with FEET of snow. A district leader memo about the storm got leaked online and it basically said, (prior to the storms arrival) for employees to rent a hotel room near the store if you have to, but get to the store at all costs! We are open no matter what! Shortly after the memo was leaked it disappeared and not long after that the decision was made to close all stores in the affected area due to the blizzard. Sounds like to me, that they only closed to avoid the bad press that this leaked memo would have caused. Basically the memo was screw you I don’t care if there is 2 or 3 feet of snow on the ground, risk your life, because the store is open! Btw, the memo never said anything about reimbursing employees for the cost of the hotel room if they had to rent one. And who can afford to rent a hotel room on the money they pay us? Typical cvs, and this little experience tells you all you need to know about how or what corporate thinks about it’s employees!

This is a repost from @XUONDIx-frj . Thought this was a truthful representation of CVS’s practices towards its employees.

Several years ago , I drove half way to work then called my DM, told him it was too bad and I would try again in few hours , called employee that lived close to store

He said nothings open and no body was on roads . DM called 1 hour later said he was in my parking lot

And if he could get there so could I

I told him he was in company car,

Wasn't gonna try in my car that wouldn't be covered on insurance

If I had a wreck.

It just shows you corporates crazy thinking that if even if just ONE store closes for a day because of a storm, the whole company is going to die in a black hole of oblivion!

@XUrnw8K-khg... I wrote that initial post in another topic of discussion. Someone else reposted it. To clarify, that whole blizzard situation DID happen! It was not my experience, but someone else's that I used simply to show how little cvs cares about it's people and how bad they treat us. Out of respect for that individual, I am hesitant to say where exactly that DL memo was from and what specific area it covered, other than new england, because I'm sure corporate knows about this site. So I won't say where, but the area in question got hammered big time with snow, and it paralyzed the area and shut everything down and people were told by public officials to STAY HOME, but Cvs pushed hard to make sure they stayed open no matter what, until someone (not me) leaked a DL memo online, one that was private for stores only, not a public memo. It showed perfectly that the only thing corporate cared for was keeping the store open, regardless of employee safety. That was a private memo, and it wasn't online but for an hour or two, until corporate must've found out it got leaked and deleted it, but what that DL wrote was pretty callous and heartless. CVS has a mantra of "The store must ALWAYS come first no matter what", and that is what's driving people away from this company. So no, not complaining, just telling the simple fact of what took place, and YES it did happen.

So you are complaining about something that didn’t actually happen. A few years ago.
