Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Negotiations begin with Whirlpool next week w/ New Sears

Meetings have been scheduled next week for the “trumphant return” of Whirlpool and all their brands (kitchenaid etc) to the “New” Sears. This is about to get interesting.

No sh-- it isn’t a game. I was making a sarcastic response to your being upset that Sears isn’t immediately liquidating and putting everyone involved out on the street without a job.

You think this is a game? Peoples lives are at stake here!

So your thrilled that the company was bought by the guy who ran it into the ground?

Your thrilled that any other bids were ignored as you say?

Eddie dumped the pension plan by filing bankruptcy. That's all he really wanted.

It's PBGC's problem now.

Just lol at the shills defending the company literally in bankruptcy "rescued" by the guy who brought it there in the first place

@2suf

I remember the haters saying that liquidation would begin after BF and it would all be over and shut down by the end of Janury. (It didn’t and it won’t.)

I remember the haters saying that Eddie was out of the running when his bid wasn’t accepted as the stalking horse. (He wasn’t)

I remember the haters saying that Eddie was done when his bids weren’t accepted on 1/4 or 1/14. (He won)

I remember the haters saying that the liquidators were going to outbid Eddie and win the auction. (They didn’t, and were for the most part ignored)

And lastly, I remember the haters saying that Eddie was going to screw over the pensioners and take all their benefits away to support Sears and enrich himself. (Not only is that not possible, but PBGC formally took over the pension plan today)

See, two can play this game.

I remember the haters saying Sears would go bankrupt (they did)

I remember the haters saying they would close a lot of stores (they did)

I remember the haters saying the stock would be delisted (it was)

Just because it hasn't happened yet don't mean your wrong, buddy.

Great. Now all Sears has to do is hire replacements for all the salespeople who quit because they had no product to sell over the holidays, or even worse, what product they did sell never got shipped.

But the haters said that Whirlpool would never be back! That they’d go bankrupt before working with Sears again!

Oh well, it’s reassuring to see the 100% track record of failure by the haters.

"Transform Holdco" is a new legal entity that will take ownership of most of the assets formerly owned by "Sears Holdings".

Negotiations - day one:

Sears: "Let's make trash together just like the old days back in 2016, BFF!!"

Whirlpool: "okay, but only because I'm almost bankrupt too. I still hate you"

Whirl-poo needs the new Sears as much as the New Sears needs Whirl-poo
