Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

There is a damned good life waiting for you after GM. Don't be afraid to embrace it

I was laid-off from GM in the 2009 restructuring. Over 50, spent most of my career with a supplier, so had little seniority. I was told (privately) that HR consultants and attorneys make the "selections". Too many lawsuits from protected classes of employees. Anyway, got a nice offer to work for a Defense Department branch in D.C. Was NOT easy, but sold the house, packed the family, and moved to Maryland. Smartest decision I ever made. There is a damned good life waiting for you after GM. Don't be afraid to embrace it.

Actually the reality is that Some have been through a great deal of adversity in their lifetime and have “dealt” with more than you can probably even imagine. Those same people have gained wisdom that comes only with experience. Another reality to consider is that eternity is what really matters. And Truth. And that truth doesn’t change just because others have no faith and few facts. With their only talking point to be yelling “racism” because they have been brainwashed beyond all recognition

So much for Apple Pie and Chevrolet. I’m a single mom supporting 3 kids solo. Born and raised in the US. Graduated from university here. I’ve been working, paying taxes, owning property, etc my entire life. My grandparents were farmers. I thought GM was supposed to be an American Manufacturing company? But that doesn’t work for the Globalists does it? They expect to actually sell autonomous vehicles and e-Bikes? Nah - I’m sure some other “entity” has promised funds to promote that.

It would seem that there aren't any protected classes, as they want to replace everyone with IA. The most resistant so far, seems to be the jobs that require an intellectual capacity. Design, engineering, etc. However, they are actively trying to outsource these as well. In the past, it was a huge failure. Today, still a failure, but less so. Tomorrow, who knows. Not only are they hiring overseas, they are actively hiring overseas candidates in our desks HERE. It's a true cause for concern, an invasion on multiple fronts.

Better start up that business while you can. Might be the only thing you can count on when technological unemployment and 3rd work replacements embrace this nation. Just a thought to plant the seed.
