If you work at WTC on paper, you have rights under WARN, which GM apparently violated. Those who are at WTC should be getting compensated until April as well to make up for the violation.
@XuCcy4n-ujo Yeah unfortunately the WARN Act applies itself to a per-site basis, not geographic.
Previous post should have said that's not what was offered to Phillips at the tech center. Hey was only until the end of February
I can say with certainty that what was offered to the people at the tech center at least an it was end of the month not April.
It appears that those of us let go from Pontiac don't get the benefit of the WARN Act, and our severance begins on the separation date of Feb 28th.
They are not officially terminated until April 9th, and then they get the severance after that. Along with the Team GM bonus. Our director said they wanted to give everyone a fair and decent package.
Why does the article say folks will be paid though April? Pay and benefits are only until the end of Feb, plus 2 weeks severance for every year worked.
