Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Market, Regional & Corporate can't handle all the changes and it trickles down to the store level

I would agree there are too many layers of management in the MST program (including mine), The focus of what resets are to be completed has changed as late as a Thursday afternoon and required to be completed by Friday, The MST's have had 47 injuries since it started (not sure if it was just in our region), The 60% more stock has caused the store to look like JCP a few years ago and Home Depot's back around 2008, The Smart project tool is not very smart but, nice to look at, it does show what tasks are completed but, still get phone calls on where were at and more e-mails then before the no e-mail thing now all the Market team does is push e-mails from Regional down to the stores. wire?..... open, take action, read.....haven't read one yet. No real servicing has been completed or will be completed anytime soon. Market, Regional & Corporate can't handle all the changes and it trickles down to the store level, so many people leaving or taking pay cuts to get out of management and Lowes in general. Operating costs may not be under control for some time but unlike JCP, Lowe's can afford the changes for the time being. Right Marv? That's why you couldn't change things around for JCP, they didn't have the money for your great ideas?

Some of the good vendors that we have seen being let go I asked to apply to an MSA position but, they can't take the job because of the pay cut.....think about that.

I'm lucky enough to have a great team, store manager and one ASM so we will hang in there and work things out. …..Hopefully.

A lot of change for changes same is not good change. It’s just change.

I have not read a truer statement about what is going on. It doesn’t feel like the changes being made at the corporate level are to fix what’s really broken. It feels like they are changing things just to change them.

The issue that seems to always crop up from my perspective is they want to make blanket corporate changes without actually enlisting the help of the associate on the floor or ASM and SM that will be honest. Targets for low volume stores should not be the same as high volume stores. (Not referring to budget but leads, credit, lpp and so on.) What works for store A may not work for store B. Their mixes in sales may be different. B is heavy Pro and A is more residential. The other problem is they give so much ambiguity in other areas that uniformity is lost. How can the same company at A fire and write up for not making credit goals but B's employees arent held to the same standards?

A lot of change for changes' sake is not good change. It's jist change.

Its crystal clear there is a huge disconnect between corp and store level. My store manager openly speaks poorly to subordinates about corporate. BlaMing them for everything! Lack of staff & budget, their expectations. etc.

Our store manager openly uses pro against what corp wants! They are lumber associates, cashiers, and unloaders. Every day our pro desk is empty. I cant even field calls there any longer and all our contractor business has left the store for Home Depot.

You can tell the difference when the Rep for Shaekbite use to come to our store weekly and maintain the product and do cycle counts! But Lowe's told Sharkbite that they can pay Lowe's to have their MST to maintain it instead of paying A.M.S to service the product weekly! Greedy Lowe's big wigs sitting behind their desk who don't have a clue about the number 1 product group in plumbing nationwide for Lowe's! We need our SHARKBITE Representative back! Night crew just put product in top stock!
