Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

EUS future

One of the most mistreated teams. My local EUS tech is incredible. Just heard her say that a rebadge

or RIF maybe in her future. I really wish you gals and guys the best of luck and thank you for all your help. I hope you get a fair deal.

No disrespect to the fine people of EUS, however I've haven't needed support in a few years. Self serve options work for most.

@YJmSMgu-5jdh Unfortunate but true. These kind of jobs are decreasing rather than growing

Eus was full of people who couldn’t get a real IT job.... in the modern world they can be replaced with self help.

It’s always about leadership. If teams are underperforming hold the leader accountable. You do not outsource functions that efficiently add value.

140 new contractors being trained to do what EUS did. Been doing support for over 15 years now and know my time is limited

Even the excellent ones weren't worth their 6 figure salaries.... at one point there were nearly 1000 people in EUS, that's crazy.

EUS at Verizon have been over paid and under worked for years. The majority have limited technical knowledge and wouldn't get IT jobs elsewhere. They needed to be brought "up to speed".

End User Support was a very good place to work. Then last year the dark clouds formed and 75% of us volunteered to leave.
