Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Salaried manger here

Salaried manager. We had a conference call yesterday. We were told to make accommodations for door greeters who could not do other jobs. Why am I telling you this? I’m losing a lot of great people that’s why! If they make accommodations for one they must make them for all. It’s only fair! We were told to keep quite about it and not volunteer the information. So if you do not bring it up they will not either. Tell them you know bout the door greeter accommodations.

I’m sure this is true, the company does not want any more bad publicity like they received when they eliminated Walmart’s door greeters , that’s why they are accommodating them . That’s how they play the game.

If your not a club manager then you will not be making the accommodations, the club manager will. What manager would talk to associates that way, if you were but your not is the reason we have poor leadership.

Why do you think anybody would believe CLUB MANAGER HERE on a post when you cant believe them in person. Do you really believe a manager would tell you something to jeberdise their job. No they wouldn't. This is false and someone is trying to stir the pot of emotions.

Any information on what is going on is appreciated. We understand that HO is forced to share information with CM. If not come day of change will be a massive problem. The public is quick to change where their money is spent if they are not happy and they take people with them.

With that being said, the changes that are coming is not known to the club associates. I have not been told what will happen to my position yet, but what I do know is that if you have just know it is not finale until it is in effect. Change is a must to grow and profit but to do it at the expense of the work force will be felt.

We have loyal members because the know we have the numbers to take care of them. They also feel as those we are family because we have so many that have been with the company for awhile. With the changes that are coming we will become a high turnover company. This will affect the bottom line.

Wow we lost greeters cause they didn’t want make the accommodations in our store but I go to other stores and see disabled and elderly associates getting accommodations one person was forced to quit cause they didn’t want to accommodate others quit as well surprised we have anyone left as greeters with the sample people I know 5 diff jobs but often now greeter lol let’s see if I can be accommodated to I’m getting old
