Outsourcing US IT services is different from RIF, reorg, repeat. Indeed it is a RIF indirectly. But managing the outsourced IT services is something that VZ is ill-prepared. The chronic RIFs were distressful however this massive shift to outsource US IT services is BS. Innocent VZ professionals have been displaced to right-size the employee headcount by the VZ CIO and Sr. VP who are both novice and blinded.
This is my 4th telecom company to work at...and my former peers will tell you, telecom is no picnic at any of them. My friends in other corporations will also tell you how bad things are where they are working.
Wait until you get laid off at this telecom. There are no more to be hired at and you've gained no skills outside telecom.

Deloitte, KPMG, Infosys, Cognizant are all worse than Verizon. Consulting bodyshops.
Vdsi was great.. Verizon India worst...can't work any more.. quitting..bad culture of targeting employee s by giving D rating..
So after all that BS Infosys is just another contractor vendor to Verizon.
I wonder if they'll have the same 2 year term restriction?
I agree with @gxo ..... there are much worse companies to work for and they do not offer the benefits or pay that Verizon does.
The downside to Verizon is that it is mired in its attempt to build itself into a 'media cult' that mindless citizens will follow. Those days have pretty much passed and the population is slowing moving to the opposite end.
Verizon should seriously consider moving back to doing business the 'old way'; meaning integrity with customers and employees and offering an honest service with a fair price. The company for too many years have been led by people that believe their own press releases and while may have been great engineers or managers in another industry, they simply were not cut out to be in the telecom industry.
I do not regret my years at Verizon but I also do not recommend anyone to come to work for the company with any ambitions of staying longer than 3 years.
Not the worse...not the best. Go ask others how much they make an hour and how much they pay for benefits...
Used to be FAR BETTER, now it's all about the dividend, slash, cut and screw the employees.mmmgotta keep that dividend up.
I don’t agree that VZ is the worst company to work for. I know a gazillion other companies far worse than VZ. The problem is that many of these Fortune 500 companies do the same chit every year. RIF, reorg, repeat.
