@1wtc 'I’ve worked through all of the recessions' -- yep you don't get it. Try not working during a recession. Or maybe knock it off with the charity work for John V before its too late.

"We do it for our colleagues and customers"

I think you should open your eyes and ask yourself this question. Do you really think any reasonable, colleague /customer with an ounce of understanding and any regard for ethics would want to see you risk your future .

When you are actually helping make.....Carl.... John V....and his crew of thugs get rich and richer.

Sure they are willing to pay retention bonuses and severance now that there initial smoke and mirrors act wasn't a smash. Bonuses and severance are small investments to make in order to reach the BIG PAYDAY... for them. Think about it .. but don't think too long because before long the magic act will have been preformed and the crew will move on (with a bundle of money ) to the next target to begin another show.

@1ahu this is 1kto and I want to give you a perspective. I know your heart is in the right place. I’ve worked through all of the recessions / slow economic periods since 1989, and am fully aware of the difficulties in those times. As a Xerox employee, I’ve been working through these down times beginning in 2000 and have witnessed our wipeout since then. The difference now is that those remaining will receive far less severance, and will have to s--- it up for less or leave. If I was of the ‘leave’ persuasion, I would have put my name in the hat and bounced last year when we still received 1 week severance per year employed. Myself and many others are not of that mindset yet irrespective of how we have been treated as a whole. I will leave at some point, but for now I will not tank with the ill conceived notion that it somehow impacts the leaders of our company. They are set no matter what we do. My preference is to keep doing the right thing ... not letting colleagues and customers down. Sorry if this is sanctimonious, but we have a choice to leave or not leave.

@1kto Going by your comments I don't think you understand what hell awaits if you are let go during a recession. Right now times are good but the job market will eventually slow. I'm begging you to stop focusing on your co-workers/customers and Xerox and focus on yourself. No one has your back during a recession.

@1mzy you obviously made great decisions at the right time and that’s truly outstanding and congratulations. You made a personal choice and it was the right call. Many remain who are trying, yet have no passion for supporting the powers that be. We’re simply helping our colleagues who mean a lot to us, and maybe holding out for better personal opportunities. It doesn’t make us id--ts as @alm would perceive. The truth is that if some on this board have already moved on, everyone is good with it.

Give John credit, his mission is to make the guy who hired him very happy who in turn makes him very wealthy. Woe to anyone, such as his employees, or anything, like an actually realistic and successful business plan, or any reason, say ethics, stand in his way to ensure that Carl gets what he wants.

@1auv. I left Xerox. I have much better salary, benefits and work in non-toxic culture. I was there when things were good. Move forward and improve things? Are you insane?

@ bgb that is the least of my concerns. What have you done today or yesterday to move forward and improve things?

@gpd Hopefully we can still have your keen insight when you're unemployed. I'm sure your former customers will have your back and you can educate us on how that is working out for you.

I’ll start passing the hat around for him. Poor guy can barely afford a yacht on that paltry sum.

@bag no superiority here, just honesty. If you spend your days working for failure, it’s your choice. It ain’t me and never will be.

@rwa JV and the board are exactly the ones who benefit from your hard work. You might not have 'the choice to move on' when that overdue recession hits. But go ahead and pontificate about your hard work for nothing if it makes you feel superior.

It seems obvious the more useless you are the higher the salary. JohnnyV buy yourself a tie and dress like the professional you are impersonating, instead of the cafone you are.

@alm we don’t go above and beyond for jv, the board, or any other non-relatable entities. We do it for our colleagues and customers who are still trying and have nothing to do with the current state of affairs. It’s your choice to complete your day as you feel necessary, but give up is not in my game or those I keep working hard for. We all have the choice to move on and will do so when the pros outweigh the cons.
