Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

The beginning of the end

Well folks, HCL Guatemala will be visiting COM and doing some hardcore training for 4-6 weeks. After that, they will go back and yes (from the mouth of leadership) take jobs with them. We have had a good number of people quit and very quickly filling those roles with inexperienced temps. The timeline of the second wave seems to be right on track.

(This Info was given by leadership at COM/HCL)

I believe the folks from Guatemala are members of the Flight Risk Management Team that was mentioned on the Flight Risk Mitigation slide from the leaked presentation. Things are moving along as planned.

@3rgq

They must have changed their minds as on the 8th they will be at CBS in CT, ITS in MA, Comdoc in OH and many other cores

When HCL came to our core they stated they will not be going into all cores. They will review the processes at 6 larger cores and decide what processes will be used going forward.

I have heard that dispatch for XGS is getting some training in Xerox systems so you wouldn't invest that time if they weren't staying. At least the larger cores; smaller ones are still merging creating a handful of larger territories. Plus techs have already been with Xerox directly. If your core is migrating others into your systems then the direct employees would be staying. The people who are watching other cores take on their data wil be let go.

What about the people who do the jobs that are in the "outsourcing" categories that were not badged over to HCL and what about the call center service dispatchers ? Will they all get laid off by Xerox once the go live date for your core comes? If that is true it s---s that they have no stay bonuses

FYI there are people being offered full time positions by HCL as they are needed for their knowledge and skill set

Seems like a good amount of the people here who thought things would be great under HCL would fall for the 'Hi my name is Bill from Microsoft Support and there is a problem with your computer' scam.

Is this just phase 1 companies?

Our president kept saying “HCL has a seven year contract with Xerox” leading many to believe they had years before they had to worry about their jobs. Almost no one at our core has any clue what’s going on. The smart ones got out.

Amazing to hear all the people say "we all do things differently" and "it'll take them forever to learn". That was the problem with GIS.. we all paid people $10-15/hr to be hero's. It caused more confusion than good.. And you never realized it. I feel bad for everyone but it needs to be done. Sooner than later. Sorry...

Which core is COT? Is that COTG?

So I thought the "golden processes" were supposed to be done the first week in June? They said the cores would not need to be visited, now HCL realizes that all 39 cores do stuff different and need to now visit every core and then they will take all info and try to come up with the processes?????

LMAO, because they must be spending a fortune having to visit all cores!!

Where are all the HCL people that said the leak that came out about how they were going to take over and eliminate departments was a lie. Where are they now? Everything that got leaked out is happening now. Liars.

On the 8th my core (north canton) will be training a few Guatemala people on how to do our jobs. They will be here for one month and will take what they learn home to work remotely. Good times.

Say has anyone reported the invasions to the Fed? They have been cracking down on folks coming from overseas including temp's that come in for a few months (HCL was at one point using visiting visas for the temps).

COM is Comdoc. It’s a GIS company, I think in Ohio. From what I have heard a very successful, very large. With the rebrand they are now known as cores, in Michigan it’s MOS Michigan Office Solution

So what cores have they been too or they are there? Please let us know so we can see where we stand as far as timeline.

Seems like they are invading every core, they originally said they wouldn't need to, what's the matter HCL, it's not as easy as you originally thought huh???? you don't even know the half of it, lmao

Yup they are coming our way too for 5 to 6 weeks , nobody is happy about it, i told them to make sure they tell them in detail all the sh-- that happens, I deal with so many issues every day so I say "good luck HCL" because you have no idea what you are in for, your head will be spinning!

Word is definitely getting out to customers as the cancellations and lease buyouts have been happening in droves, we have a lot of sales leaving too!

So what's a "COM"? If it's an organization who's the manager (so I can find it in the org chart)?

(Been with Xerox a very long time now, it's never ceased to amaze me how many different functional areas exist in the corporation, each with their own "but everyone knows that" list of acronyms and buzzwords.)
