Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Walmart vs Lowe's

Walmart has long held the position of the worst company in America to work for. Their pay and unfair treatment of the employee was known nation wide. It became a national problem for this giant retailer. They were having problems getting anyone to apply, or if they were lucky enough to hire someone, that employee quit as soon as they could.

In 2015 Walmart made a national statement saying all minimum wage was increasing. This was in the hopes of reversing the constant salary cuts over the years. They learned the lesson that it takes bodies in the store to make money....

Amazon, in 2018 raised all minimum wage to 15.00 per hour in the hopes of reversing the bad name they were fast getting in the retail business.

Lowe's needs to realize this policy of cutting salaries and hours with unreasonable work shifts has been tried before and has failed.

Lowe's is becoming this retailer that no one wants to work for. They will learn just like the others, your employee base is your greatest asset. Without the employee running the stores you may as well close the doors.

Walmart is still considered the worst company in America to work for. With their low wages that still do not keep up with economic inflation and cost of goods. I see the trouble the stores are having just to get anyone to apply.

I wonder how long this will continue at Lowe's or if they will realize their mistake before it's to late..

it is walmart. Like Lowe's anyone fooling themselves thinking this is a career needs a reality check. Lowe's was once a career and a lot of vets stayed past when it no longer was because of their high salaries. Well most of those have been let go or are leaving. New work schedule isn't at all friendly to having a family. No weekend time off. No night time Lowe's wants you trapped. Too bad eventually everyone one there leaves.. Walmart is no better then Lowe's/ Everything is a PR stunt for the stock. Which is all they care about.

If you think Walmart is the worst, I suggest you apply at a Kmart just to realize just how bad things can get.

walmart raised minimum wage and then simultaneously cut hours and positions. every time walmart does something horrible they do some sort of PR rollout to make it look like theyre taking care of their employees

amazon raised minimum wage as well....on the same day they took back stock options i think it was that and/or some other benefits to make up for it

the 15/hr card is because of protesting.....since thats the number used..thats the number these evil corporations then announce....but every corporation that has done it has simultaniously found a different way to take the money back.

Walmart just like a week ago announced to their workers that theyre getting rid of ASM level positions...i think theyre also making supervisor level and asm level now compete for some new position. im not completely up with what is going on but the layoff forum for walmart was all up in flux over it.
