Agreed FANG base salary are same as IBM but they are giving signing bonus in range of 50k to 100k .I personally know friend got into 'A' and got $80k as signing bonus paid at end of one year with $250k RSU vested equally over 4 years . this is on top of normal base Salary of $180k he got .he told his team mate after spending 4 years just retire with 1 million in stocks earned through RSU given during job offer as stock price has gone so much up in last 4 years.

Don't look at just salary but overall compensation which includes signing bonus and stock options which FANG offer which is no way comparable to IBM compensation of just base salary with laughable bonus of points (less then 1%) .

@ZppqJc9-1sta I know a few people who work for FAANG companies, and you need to take some of those comp figures with a giant grain of salt. Those aren't base salaries or even base + cash bonus numbers. They're mostly RSU numbers. In many cases, they're ONE TIME (signing bonus) RSU numbers not annual numbers. These companies pay their employees in stock, which is great so long as you stick around long enough for the stock to vest (usually 4 years) and the stock doesn't take a dive in the mean time. But it isn't the same as base salary + cash bonus and it shouldn't be compared as such.

To put IBM salary with respect to Other tech companies see below

And for those tech gurus who spent whole life in IBM or still thinking of sticking with IBM cloud please try to see world outside of IBM cloud which many perhaps are not even aware of it.See below

Is this US only? Assuming Canada is different.

Also, in US, Nashville will not be the same as NYC

Band 9 range goes well above 200K... though nobody will ever get passed 165K in that band!

Not to be rude, but none of these numbers are meaningful without a location attached.

SF != Tucson.

The sample size is just too low to get anything useful from this.

Thanks for doing the research and posting the results. The average band 9 salary seems a bit off though. It is very close to the maximum end of the band 9 range. The average salaries in the other bands are more in the middle as one would expect.
