Thread regarding Sears layoffs

2 months later - no money

Almost 2 months later, after I was laid off, they still owe me 40 hours of vacation time. I just checked on the payroll web. They deleted all of my hours and now it shows zero. Ex-manager is not answering the phone, HR is not answering the phone. I don't think I am going to get my money any time soon. Just to let you know what kind of crooks they are. Get a f out of there, Let them dry out completely. They don't rspect customers, they don't respect employees. Let them sink fast.

If you live in California call the state labor board. In California they have to pay accrued vacation at time of separation.

@4iti:

It only has to paid out in a few states, not all of them. However, there’s not much point in filing for it because it’s trying to squeeze blood out of a turnip. He can’t sue, and the state cannot force SHLDQ to pay it out (both due to the bankruptcy).

Call your appropriate state agency. You are to be paid upon leaving

If you were laid off prior to May 5th (or were in a closing store after that date and were not transferred to Transform), you’re an unsecured creditor of Sears Holdings, and the only thing Transform will tell you is to talk to them. You’ll have to file a claim via Primeclerk for the dollar amount you’re owed. As of last week, SHLDQ was predicting recovery between 2.3 and 2.7% of claims for unsecured creditors.
