Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

BNY

BNYM is plagued by an absolute lack of management talent from the top down. d—beats, dullards and cowards all. No intestinal fortitude to make a rational decision due to fear. Good workers are demoralized by management never helping only getting in the way.

Agreed. Don’t see the leadership talent to pull us out of this downward spiral.

I am sorry but I do agree that BNY definitely has poor management. They need better training. I feel what I’m seeing is because of poor management they have lost huge clients and more are leaving in my department. One large client is leaving in November; therefore, most likely 20 people will be let go. Management is doing now is what other banks did like 10+ years ago and they are trying to catch up. They are trying to cut as many expenses to boost growth, move processes overseas, etc. This blew up in JPM’s face. Lost a huge client and moved everything back to the USA. I just don’t understand how can departments function without good people?

I don’t know if you are/were a manager at BNY, but even managers struggle - maybe even more - with the harsh policies mandated from the TOP. So if your problem is/was with policy, your manager probably has/had no power over that.

If your problem was personal, maybe it has/had to do with your attitude that is displayed in your messages on this website. You might benefit from some counseling that would help you here or your next jobs. I wish you peace.

This is the blanket stereo type of statement. Providing examples is much better

Someone is clueless, and has a problem with authority. So obvious.

Any posts like this are exactly what the company wants. Your line manager has no power at all, but you blame your manager, not the COMPANY that sets policy.

Meanwhile, everyone knows that managers who disagree with policy are let go, or haven’t you noticed that?

Clueless, problem with authority, and obvious.
