cue excuses and non-answers about how being a fresh lead isn't worth the headache or how you were constantly looked over for a promotion... meanwhile all you can do is obsess over how much fresh leads get paid

Still waiting on all the detractors and negative minded people who have everything disparaging to say about fresh to speak up!
You've been an Associate for 5+ years. Why aren't you one of the highest earners in your club? Is it your poor attendance? Your weak work ethic? Low integrity? Nasty attitude toward members, Associates, and management? Refusal to do anything more than bare minimum?
Or maybe you tried, failed, and now you just sit back from the peanut gallery throwing tomatoes at people who have the testicular fortitude to go for the gold?
If I knew how little work they did I would have been all over it.
You need to get over yourself. It's money. You got it. They want it. Of course they're going to moan and groan and be hateful here. Where else can they have freedom of speech? Not inside the Club.
There they have to smile and be nice, while the thoughts going around in their heads are anything but. Just watch your backs and be careful in this new environment.
Non-qualified people (including new hires) are lining up for these jobs. Some may deserve a chance, most not. If you are loyal (long term partner), and qualified (current fresh TL), you should be making this wage already. Don't be ashamed. Just be ready for more B S on your plate. i.e., being nit picked with severely understaffed depts, block scheduling (the #1 most R—dED concept for a place that has no intention of properly staffing any dept), being responsible for closing other fresh depts that you have no way of knowing how to run, etc, etc, etc. Again, EVERYONE wants to work in fresh. Until they do. Then they don't.
