Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Day Receiving

How is it going for the Backroom since the switch. In our club, it is just two FT, one is Sat, off Sun-Mon, Tues-Fri. The other FT is alone in back on Monday and works Mon-Fri Both work 4am-12 noon. The craziness is off the charts. We are so busy with all incoming freight starting at 4am, it is impossible to get into Claims. Is anyone else having the same problem? If not, what is working? We are told we are tracked how often we sign into the Claims app now will soon be COACHED because of not getting into Claims. This, coming from a mgmt team that has no comprehension what it is like to work in the Backroom

Days off 1-saturday and sunday. 1 sunday and Monday. 1 tuesday and Wednesday

1- 3pm— 11:30 pm. I believe shes off Saturday Sunday. I believe 3 pm mgr unload pm trucks on weekends If hes not unloading hes out on the floor on a lift or stocking

So it's safe to say that no one in the backroom associate position has Sunday and Friday as their days off? Interesting.

3 backroom associates
1-Monday-Friday-4-1230
1-Sunday-Thursday-4-1230
1-Wednesday-Sunday-4-1230
Then have an associate that does backroom 3-1130 not sure of days off

@1phr
Sure why not, merchandisers are not doing their own job anyways because they are covering the front end, click n pull, helping in carts, fresh, etc. Let's slap on receiving as well!
Our GM was complaining because hot items and mixed pallets are stacking up. I said maybe if the associates were not covering every department it wouldn't be an issue.

Are there any day receiving / backroom associates that DO NOT have two days off in a row? If so, what two random days do you have off?

2 back room associates at my club. Both mornings. One off Saturday and Sunday and the other off Sunday and Monday. I’ve been working receiving since switching from midnight receiving but I’m not a back room associate. Team lead from midnights and other ex midnight receiving guy is working back room on the 3 to 11 shift.

It’s not working at all I am claims, but I can receive
We split up who does what best but you still can’t get your work done
Rtv’s come and go can’t get them pulled or done , but I don’t think management has a clue
You can’t get anyone to help my days off the others don’t come near claims , they won’t print paper work or reports can’t make phone calls for returns
I don’t think home office gets it or cares, I know are market manager does not .
One person can’t do three jobs and do it well
I will not work overtime, they would never get any help in our club.
We have so many working 6 and 7 days, we are at least 30 plus down and still keep losing people weekly
What does it take home office for you to get this is not working

Curious what days other receiving/backroom associates are working if you have three people in at the 4 a.m. shift.

I just re-read my post below.
I sounds like I refuse to learn receiving and the other guy doesn't know claims.
That is not true at all - we both can fill in for each other, but naturally do what we are best at and more comfortable with.

The only way that it is working in our club is because we get a lot of overtime - sometimes working 6 days a week.
It would be cheaper to hire another person than to pay us all of the time and a half.
But there is no one to take the position if they offered it. So many people have quit...

Breaks??? We don't take breaks - we also don't get to lunch until 10:30 and 11:00. Our schedule is booked almost solid from 4:00 until 11:00.
We have NEVER had a live truck schedule past 11:00 am.

And sorry home office - we still divide the tasks by who ever does a better job. None of this "cross train and switch back and forth" nonsense.
I will never unload a truck as fast as the other guy and he will never understand claims like I do.
Why waste what little time we have struggling to get something done when the other person can do it better and faster.

Our club has 3 Full timers and they bring someone in off the floor to help with claims. The claims person does not have to do receiving at all. Does not seem right
