Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

When are the employees going to have a Town Hall from BD and Senior Leadership.

When is BD and Senior Leadership going to have a Town Hall and tell us what progress they have made with the new Model they started in 2108? What about all the new Senior Management that has been hired as well as McKinsey. We deserve to hear from BD and Senior Leadership. Not sure why but they are not very transparent and it makes for very poor communication throughout the company. All we get is mass e-mails about Senior Management Promotions and new Senior Management Hires. There is more going on and they need to be more transparent with the employees of this company.

Yup Town Hall and as it's going on there will be RIF's going on. Do you think BD will mention that in Town Hall? He has never been honest and transparent and told us anything about RIF's

Voluntary package doesn’t fit the model.

Leadership comes every QTR asking for a “donation” to reduce costs. Just like kings did years ago sending out tax collectors to villages.....

I don't believe AIG has ever offered a program for employees to volunteer to get RIF'd like other companies have. It's sad because there are a lot of employees that want to leave and a lot of employees that want to stay. I think the morale would be much better if they tried that approach.

Why don't they just take volunteers like other large companies have done?

to Post ID: @106CS4R7-3ofr, you need to get to work along with Senior Management instead of collecting money from the company and paying other consultants to do your work. We would save a lot of money and there would be fewer RIF's

No need for a Townhall. If you are still at AIG, you have an obligation to work work work. That is what they pay you for. If not just leave. Management

Oh we will have some bs town hall when the next earning report comes out in August and it will be a repeat of what they disclosed publicly. No real transparency that employees would love to hear.

There are so many employees now looking for other jobs and lots of employees that are just on standby waiting to get RIF'd

I believe if they were transparent many employees would be actively looking for work elsewhere

Yes, this site has more information about what's going on in the firm than the communication from senior management. Keep posting folks!

Repko had a townhall with TAP analysts the other day. He wanted to know why so many are leaving. Is he blind? Does he not see what has happened to our culture? Morale is terrible, constant reorgs create stress and uncertainty, people don't know whether they will have a job one day to the next.

These young, bright men and women can read between the lines. They see most me jobs going offshore. They see good people getting canned or deciding to leave in their own. There is no vision, not roadmap, no strategy coming from leadership, just empty slogans that everyone rolls their eyes at.
Make no mistake, we are now in a state of rolling layoffs. Expect no announcements, as they are planning it to be off the radar. But they are happening, 500 mostly international past month alone. Anyone who has worked here or does should know this is business as usual.

I guess that BD and Senior Management is relying on us to get our information from this site. This site is way more transparent and informative than BD, Senior Management and actually all of Management.
