Experience with Core mergers

Couple of questions here. If your core was merged into another core, was there any communication between the corresponding departments? Did your contracts people talk to the other contracts people? Accounting? Sales? Were the processes for the former cores discussed? Was it discussed how those processes would be handled going forward? Or were your core key managers and supervisors kept in the dark? Was it assumed you would take on the processes of the core you were merged in to with complete disregard of how your processes affected your customers? Just some questions whirling around in my mind as I’ve not seen much discussion on this topic. I’m not looking for you to call out your core, just looking for insight into your experience. I’ve been with my core for some years now and what is happening is so disheartening. I’m not a rebadged employee but I can’t imagine how bad it will be once those employees are replaced with the outsourced people. I feel sorry for all GIS customers.

each department had a couple of meetings with their equivalent at the other core to help understand processes. The IT departments should have the data cleaned up so you can function within your own process. Actually the best thing we did was when we were receiving another cores customers all the department heads got into a room and we walked through a customers experience from signing a new deal to requesting service. Makes you realize that Everything down to how you answer the phone might change.
