Ford deleting employee comments about DPS6

Did anyone see what they did today to the home page?

And I guess for your information Phoebe because I know you're probably still lurking around this board. ;) For the record, I think your DPS6 reporting was generally along the right lines, but a little unfairly sensationalized. Listen, EVERYTHING in this company is marked "Ford secret." So the fact that some of the documents were marked secret does not in itself mean much.

Anyway, I digress... There were dozens of employee comments in response to the response Ford posted about the freep DPS6 article. Frankly I have never seen employees publicly eviscerate Ford like that in the comments section of the homepage. There was comment after comment saying how the response Ford posted was inadequate and shifting the blame onto customers and Getrag. And then, about half way through the day today, all the comments were wiped out, and further commenting was disabled.

What a load of BS. You know what the best way to get your employees to hate you? Feed them a bunch of garbage that doesn't own up to the problem you created, and then when they call you out on it, censor them. This company seems to lose its way more and more every day. Maybe this could be a small thing for some, but for me it really cuts deep and shows the company's true nature. They don't seem to be willing to listen to anything the employees have to say any more.

I've never even owned a DPS6 car, but the way Ford treated the feedback from employees today is disgraceful and a slap in the face. They had better come up with a public statement acknowledging that their own employees are angry, and what they're going to do to regain OUR trust. But I'm not holding my breath.

Seems the arrogance of Ford leadership, starting with Bill Ford then Jim Hacket is coming around to bite them. The drop in sales in China is another indication that this company may be in trouble.

I have been struggling with my “relationship” with Ford. They provided me a living for many years but I feel a great deal of unease with how the company has evolved. I decided to take the emotion out of the equation and look at three things were important competence, reliability and honesty.

Are they competent to design and build safe, reliable vehicles? My gut says not any more. They removed the highly skilled and competent engineers in favor of cheap, inexperienced and sometimes temporary labor. The managers are hiding defects and problems until they are too expensive to fix.

Are they reliable? Do they do what they say they will do? Do they stand behind their products? Evidence says no.

Are they honest? Do they speak the truth or do they spend time covering up and managing and manipulating? Evidence again shows honesty is lacking.

Until I can say Ford is competent, Ford is reliable, Ford is honest there will be no blue oval in my driveway. If J&J behaved like Ford after the “Tylenol scare”, J&J would be out of business.

To the Ford spinmasters reading posts. You can’t spin your way to trust. You can’t gain trust by establishing committees or war rooms. Trust is not achieved overnight, but rather something earned over time and through many consistent actions. You must be consistently honest, reliable and competent.

I do not know if Ford will find its way back. It takes hard work and integrity. the temptation to take the easy way out is ever present and the short term bonus dollars persuade managers to favor short term goals over long term company health.

I too am thoroughly disgusted with Ford leadership choosing to spend their efforts on spin doctoring (epic fail everyone saw thru the bs), lobbying NTSHA and congress (now backfiring due to public outcry), instructing dealers to place the blame on the customer (now backfiring).

everyone now knows Ford knowingly put unsafe vehicles on the road despite protestations from dedicated engineers. Sadly the DPS6 is just the canary in the coal mine.

I will never drive a Ford vehicle again. I will never trust them to do the right thing.

Funnily enough In a Town Hall Hackett was asked what it said about Ford to be partnering with a dishonest company (VW). Hackett essentially stated that he thought VW was no longer dishonest. Now we all known why he thought that.

As an owner of one of these vehicles, and an employee, it's extremely difficult for me to think about purchasing another Ford vehicle based on my experience with this mess.

There are obvious problems with these vehicles. I've personally experienced my car shift into neutral on the expressway which almost resulted in me getting rear-ended, and it wasn't an isolated incident. There absolutely IS a safety concern!

I'm quite saddened with the company's actions on this to say the least. Each and everyday we hear about "our truths" the company is supposed to operate under, and then you see the concerns of the employee, which many are customers of these vehicles, getting censored. It's ridiculous.

Ford - please fix this!!

There is an entire strategy room dedicated to trust - employee and customer perspective.
