Headcount doesn't matter, no equipment no business. Its that simple, but the job has gotten better, less to do and more free time for fun!
many of the OPS people are useless. too many "Managers" with no direct report, and just look busy

500 operational guys? Seems a little too high, need to trim the operations down!
26,500. Sounds about right, 500 operational guys making the revenue and 26,000 hangers on working day and night trying to think up ways of getting rid of the operational guys.
We got to be nearing the 20k mark...what was the HC in the height of WFD??

It's getting more difficult to hide the 23,000 WFT Vice Presidents in the headcount numbers these days.
