I had PTO approved last fall, but when the time came to take it there was no coverage. I was told to find my own. I found some coverage, but in the end had to work some hours during the week even after the PTO had been approved and known for months.
I start my new job this week.
We've always had that problem (years!). They just don't bother to do it unless you harass them to do it. Some associates will have it sitting there for 6 months then just go on vacation and then there's no coverage but the manager can't say anything because the associate has proof that they put in the request 6 months in advance and it was ignored the whole time.
Some days that I request get denied because there is no coverage. How do you know 6 mos out that there's no coverage?
Don't have time? Many times they can be found in one of a few hiding places hanging out with their besties.
I did my request 6 months to the day
dont have time to check for requests off !!! HAHAHAHA That is part of their job !!!!!!!.. When your request sits there like that it is NOT because they had no time to check..gggeeezzz some of you give them some much slack it must mean either you are a manager or you are s—ing in the koolaid by the gallon. They have seen your request. It has not been approved because you are not an inner circle person. They are waiting til the last minute just in case there is a coverage issue they can lay claim to..........or in some cases just to be the boy burning ants with a magnifying glass........
You know how management is always sitting in the office? I like to go in there and tell them to do it right now while I'm there. They can't say they don't have time when they're sitting right there doing nothing else.
you have to stay on your managers to go in and approve your days they dont have time to check requests off
