Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Has anyone been hired after HR investigation?

I have this investigation going on; I already quit my job. Not sure what the outcome is going to be. Can I reapply ? My resignation was voluntary. Any HR person here to explain the re-hire policy in such circumstances?

You need to know if you were really working with HR or were you working with Employee Relations - they are different. Employee Relations cases will follow you for ever, your only chance is if the ER case some how gets missed my HR. If HR and ER both know about any type of investigation or case you are doomed.

If you know that HR was doing an investigation on you and you already left the company, why would you want to go back? There are tons of company out there, time to move on.

Wise words. Just remember, HR exists to protect the company from its employees. I’ve seen so many naive employees think it’s there to support them against the company and company management. Before you ever, ever, ever write to HR or complain to HR just ask yourself: “what side am I asking HR to take?” Unless it’s the side of the company or the executives, WITHDRAW that communication.

HR is never your friend. If you opened an investigation you have a mark by your name and are virtually assured to never be rehired. Of course there may be occasional exceptions, but don't count on it. As a loooong time employee, I can tell you the COBC isn't worth the click you give to accept it. Think long and hard before ever opening an investigation. You think you are doing the right thing but they collect data and will use it against you. HR is never your friend.

There are many types of investigations... Was there an alleged impropriety? Misappropriation of Funds? Harassment? Stealing of Trade Secrets? Copyright/Trademark/Patent Infringement? None of these stop just because you self terminated.
