Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Sears Livonia

Just a glimpse of a remaining Sears FLS from Michigan....Most known brands of clothing are barely in stock, and not in a lot of variety of colors/styles, there are many unknown brands that look like a known brand (think Levi & Structure), but are clearly cheaply made knock-offs with tags made to look like the brand you know, several displays of the same item are all over the men's department, the Lands End Shop had only women's clothing, and half of the upstairs was walled off. What was for sale up there in home was thinly scattered about. There was not a single person shopping up there, nor were there any sales people. I actually picked up a few shorts and tees, and I waited FOREVER to check out even though there were only 2 customers (oops-members) ahead of me. Did I mention the place was uncomfortably humid, too? At least it looked clean (on the inside anyhow) and the music was decent, I guess. The outside looked hit, and hit hard-untrimmed trees and bushes, litter scattered about, etc. Quite honestly, it almost looked abandoned from the main road. Overall, there was a slight resemblance to an old-fashioned Sears FLS, but once you really looked/shopped, it appeared to be a lot of smoke and mirrors....and thinly spread out smoke and mirrors at that. There is no way this store (or company) could possibly be long for this world.

This has to be the most prolonged death in the history of retail/department stores ever. Just Do It already.
