Cisco is the #1 IT company in the world.
Subjective at best. As Cisco has grown, it has moved away from what made it grow to what it is today and moved towards "big company/global company" mentality where it's more of a "one size fits all". Used to be, the adage was "use the right tool for the job" and we were platform/tool agnostic. Now it's "use this tool this way".
Best place to work.
Again, subjective at best. I happen to like the work I do for Cisco. I don't like the constant staffing up/down decisions. I also don't like the way Cisco is making the work place more "collaborative". Everyone hears everyone's conversations. People who aren't part of the conversation overhear it and just "join in" even if it's a personal conversation instead of work related conversation.
If you don't like it at Cisco, quit and go to another company. Simple as that.
True. But Cisco could be better.
Constantly letting good talent go to cut costs and then having to bring in people to replace them only leads to a toxic work environment. It certainly doesn't generate loyalty from the employees. Now Cisco is purely a paycheck instead of a "home" or "family". The days of giving extra effort at the expense of our personal lives is gone. It's especially bad when you have to bring the same person back later because those cheaper, less experienced replacements can't work in Cisco's technical environment because it's so unique to Cisco.

I was plan to move with Cisco Australia - they do not laid off like India
Cisco is the #1 IT company in the world. Best place to work. If you don't like it at Cisco, quit and go to another company. Simple as that.
Chaotic mess this company is the employer of last resort.
At least Australia is covering Cisco layoffs...
