for those who cant read the paywalled article.. the only reason its closing is b/c crazy eddie has buyers lined up for the space already..

there would actually 2 remaining in long island.. Bohemia and bridgehampton

the bohemia store owns the entire srtip plaza its in, which many of those stores remained empty for years thanks to a certain persons greed on how much he wanted for those spaces despite lots of interest..

bohemia is likely gonna be the last store standing on long island

There also another Kmart in Islip that is not to far so I am not surprised to see it closing also after this closing there is only going to be one Kmart left on Long Island and in Suffolk County as well

So how can a Kmart with 50,000 cars a day not make it economically?
Eddie sure runs a fine company
And how is he going to save our jobs again?

“This is not going to be one of those boxes that sits. We’ve had interest in this box for a long time,” said Schuckman, who said the shopping center’s proximity to Exit 63 on the Long Island Expressway and traffic of some 50,000 cars a day make it a desirable location
