Like how is it possible that the fresh and meat department make the same or more than the backroom associates this is so unfair ... We have to deal with a lot with receiving and claims ..it's only two of us working two full time jobs between receiving and claims when it was originally 4 people .. Sam's club really has to make this right or this will never work

Backroom associates are coded as a level 7 same as Team leads. They are being paid more than merchandisers etc.
Fresh is VERY difficult and they deserve those raises. I’m not saying the back room isn’t hard because they have a lot going on too. They should also get a raise. But if you haven’t worked a fresh position especially a major holiday you really shouldn’t comment on that. Like this post is part of the problem.

I'm keyed as a merchandiser and mostly work back there. I have a coworker who is keyed as backroom(gets paid more than me, duh) and is working on the sales floor while I'm in the back.
Fresh associates have marketable skills that require a ton of training and retraining. They have to have knowledge about food safety and be licensed by the county they work in. Leads have to be further licensed as certified food managers by the state they work in. Their schedules change on a dime. They are responsible for their trucks and keeping it all organized. They have to deal with members. They are all required to be cross trained. They face legal ramifications if they make someone sick. But yeah you should make as much for emptying a truck with a forklift and spending the day sitting on your a–.
Home Office has just opened a can of worms. Years ago you didn’t talk about what you made , now it’s open season. You think maybe they did it on purpose to cause such a ruckus among associates so long time associates will quit. It’s cheaper than a buy out.
Okay well since we're going to start talking about jobs that make you lose weight and you're not on a diet, let's talk: Club Pickup. People were worried about me because they thought I was either sick or had an eating disorder when I was in CPU - I was dropping lbs like you wouldn't believe. All CPU associates do. How in the world could you lose weight in TBC...even if you are on a diet??? What? The weekly tire freight? Stop it.
Also, yeah to the OP. Our former "backroom" Team Lead is SWAMPED; mostly alone for the whole day, and, understandably, increasingly disgruntled. It really isn't fair especially since he's over 20yrs in and knows the company inside and out. It's totally a raw deal for him.
I have work receiving, meat, and tbc. Meat and tbc is much harder.
I’m an almost 12 years cafe associate and the new hires for bakery are making $15 an hour and I make 14.20 an hour.. seems fair right? This place is going to hell!!! Same thing happened to my mom at Kmart!! And now look at all the kmarts and Sears!! Next will be they get rid of ALL the management and bring in all new. Then the company goes out of business...

U guys can kiss my a– lol like I said backroom associates are doing a 5 people job and it's only 2 of us and we can't keep up at all regardless of what you're talking about if I'm made to continue to work like this then yes I expect some type of raise we weren't on the same pay level as a team lead for nothing claims within its self is a full time job..keeping up with liquidation ..RTVs ..transfers and must I go on ..
Switch jobs with fresh for one week, then come back to this post so we can hear what you think then. Get with reality before engaging mouth= free advice.

I totally agree the backroom associates handle a lot you guys definitely deserve to make the same as the team leads ...on the other hand fresh team leads get paid $22 or better and they don't do as much work as the backroom associates or hell even the merchandising team
