Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

EISP

A lot of financial advisors are saying that a package is coming, the reputation will be on the line if it’s not true. Ssdac and Service reps were told by their district managers.

Who builds out 5g in the other 45 states that don't have Verizon Wireline?

No EISP because sold off.

Our second liner said there will not be a buyout offer this year....too much work expected from the 5G buildout. This is in NJ.

The last VSP was in 2003...they were overdue. They had too many managers and needed to get rid of some headcount. That’s why they offered it to them. Now they have very little work and need to get 10 billion in cost cuts by 2020. It only makes sense to offer an eisp to union employees to entice them to leave. Otherwise, they will stay another four years. We are all here to make money, with the ultimate goal to retire comfortably. An eisp may allow some to do this without working another four years. If not, then they have no choice but to stay until they reach a point where they CAN retire. Hope that answered your question.

What about the VSP? That was a great package! How come they only offered that to non union employees? Too bad!

@1kut

You say you won’t leave without an Eisp, but In the next sentence use the term Verigreedy. Pot, meet kettle...

im hoping for an offer but wont be too disappointed if one don't come this year. at 40 dollars an hr to do nothing I can wait it out. im not bragging about doing nothing but there is not much work so that's the way it is. I certainly would never leave without an offer. that would be giving them a free 100k dollars toward there 10 billion they need to cut. sorry verigreedy, no freebies here.

My local is having a membership meeting this Sunday. I can’t make it, but I’m sure this topic will come up. I guess I’ll see what’s new on Monday then.....it certainly would make sense for them to make an offer to craft that isn’t too spectacular just to see how many people take it and go...then they can reassess and make a better offer down the road a year or 2 later before contract runs out....last time I received an offer was in 2016....came out 8/23 w off payroll 10/9....I still have the papers right here...and so we wait...

The last packages that were offered were the EISP and WAIVED the penalty for under 55 and less than the Golden 30. They’ve been offered in Sept previously.
It’s a wait and see game. Livingston, NJ

I’m in Mid state NY...We have a lot of walking wounded that’ll take it, if that’s the offer....by no means will the garages empty out though....do you have off payroll date?

Wireless are not union, therefore they will not be offered an eisp, the company can lay you off at anytime....they don’t have to offer you a eisp when they can just let you go. Only union employees are offered a eisp. The company has to offer two eisp’s before they can declare a surplus and start the lay-off process. An eisp is used to entice older workers to retire, this saving the jobs of the younger employees.

Whats the difference between a package and an EISP? Which one is for the wireless employees?
