If anyone thinks that Eddie cares about Sears/Kmart employees they are sadly mistaken. Store managers and their managers know the end game. They are waiting for the ball to drop to collect their severance and move to another company. I would not be surprised if the higher ups already secured another position while working for Transformco.
The Transform sale is done. He can do whatever he wants now.
Of course as the majority Sears Holdings shareholder he’s fighting other battles in court, but probably doesn’t really care at this point, he still will in case he can somehow squeeze out of few million bucks somewhere.
The company has too many plot twists and turns, yet it can’t or won’t figure out retail, just real estate and leasing store locations to third parties after it closes one or many of its own stores.
Yup, that's the game Eddie wants to play. To what end, we'll only know when this company fully dies.
