Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Class Warfare!

Why prevent lesser paying members to shop until 10:00AM? The lights are on, the electricity is being used and much of the air or heat is being wasted for the sake of the few higher paying members who (by the way) deserve better service and access to departments that aren't open until 9:00 or 10:00AM! Why not allow ALL members (regardless of status) shop along with the higher paying Plus Members. No class warfare, just more perks for those who pay more to shop. That's all. Of course, the early shopping hours are not enforced anyway (or so it seems) but why not simply increase the incentive to upgrade, not by punishing the lesser paying shoppers with curfews but with more benefits and incentives to shop throughout the day.

So by your mindset ... netflix shouldn't charge people more to have additional sources watching TV at the same time, or I shouldn't have to pay more for premium gas than regular gas... or I shouldn't have to pay more for smartwater than Nestle pure life... c'mon with your class wars

Seriously?!

Your definition of class warfare includes not being able to shop at a Sam's Club until 10 am.

Unbelievable.

Those lesser paying $45.00 members keep the club open alright...til 9:00 pm and later sometimes! We should charge extra for that "privelege". Merchandisers can't even start driving until they leave. It is so frustrating. Cashiers sometime cause it by offering credit at 8:30pm. It doesn't make any sense at all. As for plus members, it makes perfect sense. They shouldn't have to wait in longer lines. That is one example. They also get first dibs on low quantity items also. Plus members want to get an early start on their day, own a business, need to get to work sooner. The list goes on. Small price to pay. This is an acceptable practice that has been around for years. Been to an amusement park lately? Different passes. Concert tickets? Better seats cost more.

The original intent of the Plus membership was to offer something not being offered at other membership clubs and that was the early shopping hours. However for quite some time members with the $45 membership were commenting that it was them that were keeping the clubs open and not the plus members.

When sales dipped and more importantly membership renewals and new sign ups were decreasing rapidly it was decided to let everyone through the door at anytime and use that as a opening to talk about the plus membership.

Now to make the Plus membership look better the early shopping hours are being reintroduced and of course you are suppose to babble on about how great the Mastercard is when paired with the Plus Membership.

Thanks. I don't particularly care for the title either but was hard put to it to describe the practice of exclusion. What would you have called it 01oL7aN91-oqa?

I don't like the title of you your post but you DEFINITELY have a point about Plus Members not getting the benefits of access to all of the department by coming in early. I agree that everyone should just come in when we open. The company is making an effort to enforce the hours by doing the screen prompts and requiring a key turn after a certain amount of infractions but...seriously? I have yet to hear of anyone upgrading simply because they want the benefit of early shopping hours. You're totally right about this; it's dumb.
