Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

How far can a company with an army of dissatisfied, worn out workers go?

This is a simple question but a question that goes to the essence of everything that is wrong at Lowe’s . Worn out, scared and deeply unhappy workers can’t produce much, can they? An even sadder fact is that new and cheaper hired workers become unhappy very soon. You can’t pump the numbers with cost-cutting forever, right?

lowes has failed basic economics. Sicne my 1st day, they took me (and otheres) from point A, to put out a fire (empty hole from not staffing) at point B.
They pat themselves on their backs, for a situation resolved.

But like Adam Smith said, what about the "unseen?"

Now, at Point A, the button is going off and there is a fire there, and so on and so on.

Theer was nothing, NO THING solved. No net gain genuises.

I’m guessing not very far. I’m already ignoring the call boxes if I’m helping another customer. I’ll be damned if I’m leaving a customer that wants to order a $3,000 front door to make a key, load a customers code 50, cut wire, or help someone find hacksaw blades. All because Lowe’s doesn’t schedule enough help I’m stuck covering 4 departments in addition to my own.

Marvin et al, seem to have forgotten the basic economic principle of Marin of Diminishing returns.
