Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Cisco is in the M&A business full time it seems

Unfortunately Cisco is no longer a tech hardware manufacturing firm. They are now an M&A geared organization. Along with those acquisitions come layoffs in order to make room for the new "talent" from the acquired companies. We saw it with Broadsoft (although once onboard many of those folks left) and Acacia....Same will be true with the onboarding of Voicea and CloudCherry. Out with the old and in with the new.... :(

Pray tell us more..!

The other poster is correct. Fairly well-known tales of debauchery by John’s heir apparent ultimately landed him a gig as the head of the ultimate frisbee league (after a short stop at hyperloop).

But, It’s all ancient history now. We’re “Stuck with Chuck” as we say in engineering.

  • Pray tell us more..!

Alot of us were at the GSX where Chuck and one of his competitors played off against each other, and it was a bit of a no-contest... (as was the talk from Hillary, if anyone remembers that...)

Clearly you were not well liked by your manager or his manager. Not trying to cut on you but performance does not matter at Cisco. The key item that matters is if your manager likes you.

I'm kinda new here. Why is Chuck CEO?

The original replacement for JC (Moore) wanted to retire (and did). The runner up committed a few too many sordid improprieties and lots of skeletons in the closet. So they picked this joker.

The flaw in the theory is that in the real world, Cisco buys companies too high and sells them too low. They lose money on every deal.

Kinda like Chuck's mansion.

Old cows can't be milked no more, send them to the slaughter house. Cisco is imitating that. Sad. I was let go at age 51, was a super performer and well liked by all team members.
