Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Sales Are Going Up...

Yeah, call me an HR deputy assigned to thelayoff.com/lowes but here it goes:

Lowe’s credits this new strategy in beating Home Depot on sales growth

  • Lowe’s and Home Depot are duking it out for a category of customer that has traditionally been under-penetrated: the professional contractor.
  • A Lowe’s executive said that the company misstepped when it didn’t realize how important the pro customer is.
  • Lowe’s added 35,000 pro customers in this quarter. Home Depot announced it had reached 1 million pro customers.

We all understand the need for category dominance, driving sales etc. But do the managers have to walk around (if they do walk around) and insult us all and treat us like sh– in front if customers, be held to a totally different standard than they are or our corporate office is? To have to be the ones on the front line explaining to our customers why our racist out of touch piece of sh– executives don’t really give a sh– about them either? Just hand over your cash?

I think the biggest question from all of us is don’t you realize that you will get more productivity out of us if you treat us well and give us the tools that we need and the training that we need, the RESPECT we need, and you’ll get more sales that loyalty out of our customers if we actually pay attention to their needs and respond accordingly? And not insult them and act like a bunch of f—ing a– clowns?

The company is squeezing and squeezing and squeezing instead of inventing and developing. I mean my God, the money we spend on wasting paper, or taking on dead inventory alone would allow us to bring on probably another 10% of staff, which could turn into another 20% in sales. And as for your badges? We don’t need your stinking badges. Stop insulting us. Plus they’re dangerous they get caught on everything.

Adding (opening) new accounts is the easy part. Keeping them coming back is where is gets difficult. We shall see how it goes.
