Engineering RIM, No Severence?

Oops. A buzz is out there that could thwart severance when the Engineering RIM hits. If Aero Leadership decides to change manager roles more than 50%, they will post all T4 and T5 positions, offer existing managers a severance package or offer them an opportunity to apply for the new manager positions. The RISK; if you take a chance and apply for the new manager roles and you aren't selected, NO SEVERANCE. The perfect CFO solution to lowering severance liability for Honeywell's bottom line. Beware!

sounds right. But I doubt any manager would reapply to be a manager.

I see it playing out kind of like this ....

Managers happily take band 3 positions and don't look back. (remember salary no long impacts retirement benefits.. frozen at 2015 level).
Directors panic because they now have 50 direct reports, no projects and tanking DDLP metrics.
Mid career directors retire en masse.
VP's are pressed into making more lame pod casts
Outside engagement consultants suggest more re-modelling.

Fast forward a year. A young person stands in front of a new section of clean drywall in the South Court building. "Didn't the ___ group have offices in this area? anybody know where they went?". delve says beam ... ?" A few weeks later someone gets around to checking the plans and finds the mistake. They cut through the erroneous wall a few days later. The hidden space reveals a floor littered with dunkin-donut boxes. There's an old card game laid out with pictures of the grand canyon on the back of the cards. A crayon drawing taped to an old cubicle wall has been used as a dart board. The drawing shows a stick figure with lime green pants and a pink checkered shirt.
Next to the drawing is a printout with a want ad for Precision Aerospace circled.
No one can quite remember who it was that worked in those offices.
