Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

What happened to set schedules????

We were told this week that we are doing away with set days off. My days off were Sunday and Monday, but now we were told we have to work on Sundays because we will have more time to stock in the morning. Not fair, they can't make up their minds on anything. Our stock levels are horrible, our club manager wants all pallets of sales floor by 7 am. If night crew couldn't stock entire club in an 8 hour shift, what makes them think 4 people can do it in 3 hours? Ridiculous!!!!!!!!

My club is trying to get us to agree to changes in our "set" schedules, and if we don't they try to do a guilt trip on us. What good is a signed contract, which technically that's what we signed, if now they want it changed. I, for one, had to change all my doctor's appointments, and now they want to change it.

I left Sam’s Club last June. Retired after 27 Years. All companies change throughout the years. Learn to adjust and do what is expected of you. You have a job. If you don’t like it leave and see if you can find
Something else you like. Sams is beyond plotting...that is so immature. Be an answer or solution to a problem. BTW I love Sams Club!

I think home office should put all managers on notice at all clubs and be follow up to make sure they are following company direction. Our club thinks they can do what they want to and does not follow block scheduling.

We were never on block scheduling anyway. Some days we work 6 to 2:30 some days we work 10 to 6:30. And my days off have been different every week.

Once the new block system for hours and the 4 group tier started, the notion of severance pay was eliminated 100 percent. So anyone waiting for that to happen again will be disappointed.

The, "Happy to help", phrase has always been such a steaming pile of a motto. Whoever thought it up and ran with it was obviously irretrievably st00pid, bordering on brain dead. As soon as they rolled that fallicy out, all of us here just shook our heads in disgust. Every time one hears it, the overwhelming urge is to look around and say, "with what?"

The set schedules were a plot for them to force out long term, higher paid associates. A lot of them quit so their plan worked. They saved lots of money in severance pay and got rid of a lot of higher wages. Set schedules did what they wanted time to go back to the old ways. You work when they want now no set days off.

In the movie, "As Good As it Gets", Jack Nicholson had a great line..... "Don't sell crazy here, we're all stocked up!".

That would make a good motto at Sam's Club. More truthful and much catchier than "Happy to Help!",
