It’s not about real estate, every store combined was never worth a fraction of the money Eddie lost. It was about pride.
When I joined management with Sears Holdings a couple of years ago, I knew FULL WELL what I was getting into; and that the risk of being fired is high due to layoffs and restructuring. Anyone who has been with this company, especially in this last 9 months since BK should have known this, and made preparations for it to happen. There are other jobs out there!!! so to those 30 year veterans I say "hey great job getting to stay there as long as you did". but I also know full well that some people witha lot of tenure also are very 'average' in their work, work ethic, and quality of work; SHLD just didn't enforce high standards here. So, you've lost your job after 20 years? having to start searching 'after' is just poor planning. Sorry to be a b–ch but OMG if you didn't see this as a strong possibility you must be living on another planet. I still have my job, but I look over my shoulder each time an earnings or P&L report gets pushed up to the executive team. If you work at Transformco, YOU should, too! Duh.
Judge Drain was either a complete imbecile for believing he was going to save all those jobs or outright in on it (wonder how much bribe money he got)

Tell me about it. All along, we were just actors, acting like we were running a retailer. From the middle managers at corporate to the cashiers in the store – and everyone in between – was (and is) basically a part of a very elaborate play. Now that Eddie is down to just a few stores to sell, we, the actors, are about to exit the stage.

WTH is she doing for the company and WTH are the MSL's doing for the company. Our MSL comes and goes as she pleases, cheats on her numbers (big time and everyone knows it) and getting paid $17 an hour. Please, please the LEENA and the MSL's need to go already!
