Everybody is talking about what stores are affected by closures, but what I;m wondering is how many people will be affected by these closures and by how much employees is the company headcount going to be reduced after this. The company certainly isn’t eager to give any sort of info about that, which literally makes me sick, especially knowing how the leadership didn’t think twice to talk about the numbers in the bankruptcy process, when they were talking about how many jobs they’re going to save.

About 400 were let go last week. I heard there are 1300 left at HE and the whole organization has around 42000 employees. A lost of over 5k employees since the bankruptcy.
I am hoping to be let go. Please fire me....
HE is down to about 900 people.
Yep, you're never going to know that information.
I generally look at the parking garages and how much closer I can get a spot at.
In my business unit (which works in Hoffman Estates and a few other locations) about a third of the associates were cut across different functions. In November, we had a trim beforehand of about 20%, so my group is almost exactly half of what is was a year ago; which is now about 50 people
Forbes reported 80% of HE was let go last week. I was one of them. Can anyone confirm the percentage?

You really think they are selling all the GE, Samsung, and alot of LG at cost so we get 1%? No they're not they are definitely skewing those numbers
If anyone is on board basically Sears has been adding the around 90$ delivery cost as part of the contribution to the total sale whether it has delivery or not so for the commission associates that's means about 9 bucks off every sale......do the math nation wide that's huge and we've been offering free delivery but even when they charge 69.99 we didn't get paid for it
Well let’s see, at the time of the merger Sears had roughly 300,000 associates and Kmart has 200,000 so he’s destroyed upwards of half a million jobs by ruining both companies.
Yup karma is coming, he'll steal from any of his sales associates and the measly paychecks any chance he gets there's so much fraud in how they pay their commission associates
Eddie kept proclaiming that he was going to "save" 45,000 jobs while the court battle went on. From what other people posted though that number was probably inflated and exaggerated to make him look like a hero and the judge bought that obvious lie. Course it could have been 400,000 jobs on the line and I'm certain Eddie would still cut a lot of jobs.
But if I would hazard a guess, I'd say that at least about 10,000-15,000 jobs so far have been/will be lost by the end of year.
Karma watches everyone and Eddie is being watched.
