Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Craft offer?

I heard the company is looking to make a really sweet offer to craft. Also heard from a credible source the union is fighting it tooth and nail because they don't want to lose the dues units. If the Union gets its way like it did a few years ago the company will not be able to add to the lump sum.
Those looking to go will ,at best, get the same old IPP or, at best, Enhanced IPP.
Repeat- Those ready to run for the exits will get screwed out of thousands and can thank the union, which is more concerned with collecting dues than the well being of those it supposedly represents.

Union isn’t going to say anything even if they know. They don’t want to lose your dues. They care more about your money than your well being.

The IPP is contractual. The company can't just offer more money to craft to leave unless the union agrees, and from past experience the union will not agree. They don't want to lose the dues.

IMO, something will come, all rumors aside, which just increase more "rumors as fact and stir the coffee grinds up, and people to troll" I only base it on info from retirement/investment firms..sure, they are looking for new money, and more than half of us can probably retire based on time alone... but they also have very important persons who work for VZ, and some like to talk, more times than not when a firm says "we hear something" and want a meeting, at no charge to you, its pretty plausible. yes, company has right to offer once a year,... maybe a clause about union having a say as far as certain structures to any said offer ( I'm not sure about that)..how many, titles, but to assume they would sabotage anything is pretty conspiratory for dues... love them or hate them...most are working because of them, and many jobs saved that deserved not to be saved. 4th Q, what the firms say (at least 2) , and Ill trust, not bet on, but trust their insight only because of the reach they have into VZ personnel who they represent financially. been correct 4 out of 5x.

Something is brewing alright in New York Verizon just teamed up with one of their biggest competitors.... Altice formally Cdblevison

Verizon is discontinuing their News Channel in November laying off almost 200 and has picked up Altice’s News channel 12 for broadcast.

This makes no sense unless they are now working together....I think it’s the end of the road for Verizon Fios in Altice areas.

Work load is light, a handful of trucks have been removed from garage. Techs have been paired up. Seems as if something is brewing

I don't believe you. The company can make whatever offer they want, and the union can't stop them. I think most people are looking to stay until the end of the contract anyway. The offer would have to be better than what the managers got, or no one is going. 6 and 6 or something like that.

EISP with off payroll by 12/31/2019 is the only lever left for the company to pull to achieve most of the remaining $5.9B in savings by 2021.

So who are we?? Wireless? Management? Contractor?
The company is allowed to offer 1 EISP per year per out the bargained union contract. The union MAY cap numbers on the number in title allowed to take the EISP

Stop your Union bashing, troll. In my area, the Company can make 1 offer a year WITHOUT consulting the Union. It's in our contract. Go back in your cave.
