Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Six Months In...

Well we are six months in the new world of 2.0. For those who stayed, how’s it going? At first, it was a scramble to “figure out” the new roles in April. And then the floodgates opened. I’ve never been busier since the end of April and everyone on our team seems to be feeling it. What are you seeing in your world? Just a little old stressed me in HQ Operations. Still glad to be here - but man is it popping!

"pulling out the jumpers. They are doing it to save energy....no sense in having power go out on a cable pair if there is no dial tone on it."
Then pull the heat coil off the pair....

I remember them pulling jumpers in mass years ago in our area... it stopped after enough live jumpers were inadvertently pulled off from tangled dead jumpers. Of course those pulled loose were all spun back down... on Overtime. ;-)

What's a facility tech? I say bring those splicers, systems techs and Serv techs in and make them C.O. techs. That's what they did the last time they made an offer in the C.O.

They are removing all left in jumpers on the frame in the CO’s. CO techs are disconnecting them at the OE, then facility techs are going to remove the jumper at the cable side and pulling out the jumpers. They are doing it to save energy....no sense in having power go out on a cable pair if there is no dial tone on it.

In our meeting we were told they were going to bring the outside forces into central offices to do framework because they have no work outside. thanks 2.0 they put union members against one another! And the unions are OK with this. 😡🤬 and there’s no work in the CO’S as it is. 5E lmao

Whats popping? The powerpoint decks? The excel spreadsheets?

I am able to confirm the Verizon propaganda on Linked In, where I am spending time searching for my exit from this toilet, has hit a fever pitch. I would even go as far as saying some Verizon leaders should take a break from posting on there so much as it may impact their productivity at their jobs, whatever that may be...
