A change in personality

Is it possible that our manager was told, or even more likely, ordered to unreasonably hard towards the employees so some of them would quit their job. That’s happening at my location. I know this manager personally and he was never like that, not even close. Could this be a game that’s planned by higher tier of management?

The managers know they are next on the chopping block. Some of them are trying to show what they can do in hopes they are not the one cut.

I have felt the same way after a while you get a feel for some mgrs personalities and then when it flips to getting a whip to get the job done or verbally telling you pick it up!! We aren't giving you any help even though the job is impossible to be done by yourself. That's ok that type of attitude never gets you far it's going to bite them in the a–!

almost always the issue will be blamed on you the worker. if you complain , the thing you are complaining about is your own fault.

a manager was late , a worker got half a point for clocking in late, the worker told the general manager why they clocked in late and asked the half point be removed. the worker was told it was their fault for not doing a time adjustment to reflect proper clock in time. the half point still has not been removed.

so the worker in essence is being held responsible for the manager being late

It's likely. I had an issue a few months ago that I phoned my market manager about. At the time of the call she acted like it was no big deal, but by the time she arrived in the club just a couple of hours later (she was coming anyway) it had become a coachable offense for which I was personally held responsible. I had already decided that she had spoken to the regional in the meantime who had chosen to use the opportunity to suit his agenda.

Trust nobody. Look for another job. I did, and even after years of service I haven't regretted it for a second.

he is being told by his bosses than things have to be done in a certain way..so knowing it is impossible he is making your lives miserable..in essence blaming all of the not getting done stuff on you...

Yup. Market managers do that. Nope I don't play their game. Probably why I'm not one of their pets. Too many others agreed to play their game. Sad when people chose to lose their character & integrity to that place.
